Earmark introduces a new addition to its line of Duplex Repeating Base Stations, the BASEMASTER VIII. A full featured Base Station with all the great qualities of Earmark Duplex Networks, BASEMASTER VIII adds complete portability and weather proofing to an already powerful communications system concept. Operating in full Duplex anyone can talk whenever they want to. It's like holding a telephone conference call. Each person in the network has their own private transmit frequency so nobody interferes with anybody else. The Base Station listens to all the individual, private frequencies and repeats back everything it hears onto a common listening frequency so everybody hears everything that's said. BASEMASTER VIII communicates with up to eight remote Earmark Belt-Paks, Flex Paks, or Radio Headsets, simultaneously. BASEMASTER VIII excels in all aspects of its engineering and design. The rugged, compression molded case seals tight with four roll-over clamps to provide environmental isolation. All the electronics reside beneath a heavy aluminum control panel, supported by a base mounted steel plate. The sealed back panel, with headphone and antenna access, allows BASEMASTER VIII operations in inclement weather without fear of damage. The seal is so effective there's a pressure relief valve to break any vacuum that forms while the case is closed. The external speaker drive, plus Line In and Line Out are also accessed from the top Control Panel. Line In and Line Out are standard accessory patch points where you can attach any accessories that may be important to your task, a tape recorder, for example. The external telephonic accessory port is switch-able from standard telephone to cellular phone. Special adapter packs are needed to complete these circuits (optional equipment). The telephonic adapters require operation with the case open.
